WPM* HELP

WPM* OVERVIEW

The web pages created by the BP Web Page Maker consist of six areas: body, main-heading, sub-head, sidebar, main content box, and footer. The editor allows users to change many style attributes for these six areas, and also to create and edit the content.

The editor itself is organized into two parts: (1) a style sheet editor and (2) a content editor. This organization mirrors that of the source code produced by the program, which has an embedded style sheet at the top and  XHTML content at the bottom.

After making changes in style or content, a user clicks on one of the "Submit the page" buttons to see the results. To return to the editor, a user only needs to click on the browser's back button.

A page design can be saved by going to View/ Source in the browser's menu bar, selecting the source, copying it, and then pasting it into an ordinary text file. A user can further edit the source with an ordinary text-editor such as Notepad. To work as a web page, the source file must be saved with an "htm" or "html" extension.

The BP Web Page Maker is a free service of the Bold Planet Web Experimentation Station.
